In 2020, we funded a project in Nicaragua that “supports small farming families in reforesting unused parts of their land with native trees, offering concrete measures for climate protection, while at the same time creating new sources of income for local families in one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere” (source: MyClimate). The project tackles climate change but provides support to some of the poorest people on the planet whose livelihoods are being most negatively impacted by the phenomena.
The project contributes to 12 SDGs. Details of how each is impacted, along with more information, including a short video, is available on the My Climate website: Community Reforestation in Nicaragua (myclimate.org)
